Hi! I’m Jin

🎓 MS in Human Factors and Ergonomics - UX Concentration at SJSU (May 2025)

📍San Jose, CA

🗣 I speak English, Spanish, and Korean 🇺🇸 🇪🇸 🇰🇷

I am currently residing in San Jose, California, and studying for a Master's Degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics at San Jose State University.

My design journey began at the age of 12,

when I started designing clothes for dolls and selling them online. I created the designs, uploaded them on the internet, and promoted them using visual design materials. The response was amazing! It was incredibly thrilling for a 12-year-old girl with dreams of becoming a designer. Ever since then, I have been passionate about both design and sales. Now, I merge these worlds to create digital solutions that provide intuitive and effective user/customer experiences.

From Korea to Barcelona: My Journey in Visual Communication Design and Business Management

I studied visual communication design in Korea and spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where I got many design and life inspirations studying Business Management.

I got into UX with the first B2B UX project in Mexico City.

In 2018, I relocated to Mexico City, Mexico, and worked as a B2B commercial manager for over 5 years. During this time, I voluntarily initiated a B2B UX project aimed at boosting sales.

As a result, I achieved over 200% of my KPIs and gained more than 30 new business clients across Mexico. I attained the highest rank in the industry, going from zero revenue to the most profitable venture within four years. I believe this experience significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth.

Learning UX Design and Moving to the United States

After working hours, I began learning UX design and taking on UX projects as a side hustle. My boss endorsed my project, and I found the experience of doing UX design to be enjoyable and meaningful. As a result, I decided to work on improving my skills and opportunities in this field. I applied for a Master's degree program in San Jose, CA and was fortunate to be accepted.

So now I am…

I am a designer with a proven track record of balancing user needs, visual design, and business strategy. I ask myself 'why', communicate with data, and manage projects with empathy and deep understanding.

I’m a designer who gets ideas and insights from people's lives. I am passionate about discovering how human thoughts and behaviors affect our everyday decisions and enjoy converting them into real-world projects, forming meaningful outcomes through a human-centered design approach.

Jin Trivia

Constantly, I’ve been journaling.

Through this,

  • I was able to better understand what works for me and what doesn’t.

  • I’ve written down the mistakes I made, and what I’ve learned from them.

  • I've compiled a list of things that have made me feel fearful and how I've overcome them. These accomplishments serve as a source of positive energy for me whenever I need it.
